Chapter 4 - coincidence

The ceremony was to begin in about another 1 and a half hours time and I wasn’t going to be buying a new dress anymore. All I did was rummage through Sabine’s closet and scavenge on whatever appropriate looking garment there was. Fortunately for me, a simple yet elegant looking sequined dress in pretty blue was waiting for me. I wonder why she didn’t want to wear this gorgeous thing. But I wasn’t about to complain. Her loss is my gain.

“Bil, your underwear’s so visible. Pull up your pants please,” said Sabine, holding a bag of chips heading to the TV area.

“Whatever man! Who’s gonna look at me in the house? There’s just me and you,” I answered.

I still hope to kick Miss Marion’s ass one day. Which “sweet” parent would actually name their child Maron? Niko Maron Ulliel… What kind of a name is that anyway? Freak. How unlucky am I till I could actually bump into him? I don’t think he’ll force me to pay him back for his spoilt guitar though. I’m never ever going to see him again anyway. That’s the good part though, not seeing him again. He was really good looking anyway. I’d say it’s hard to forget those piercing blue eyes and sharp striking features. He didn’t look this good that day at the gig. I don’t know, maybe meeting him up close and personal was a great experience. He may be cute but he’s still an ass.

“Welcome to Germany’s University of Performance & Media. My name is Mrs. De La Cruz and I happen to be your principal here. As you should know, our institute is very well known for its ability to produce world ranking performers from singers to actors and actresses. As surprising as this may sound, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were former students here. Look how successful they are now. Should you wish to follow in their footsteps, I suggest you pay full attention while you’re here and no nonsense either. I wish you all the best of luck. I’d like to end my speech here. Thank you,” said the head of the university.

People were clapping for her as she bowed and waved. Seriously, she sounded like Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter as her mannerism was similar. Ironically, the university looked like Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Ok, maybe it doesn’t look so much like it but the similarities are there. No denying that. There were many new students this year and I do hope I’ll gain some new friends. It’s sad that all of all of us, only Sabine and I have interest in this particular field. Romina was venturing into fashion designing and the others were doing business.

“Cool place huh?” Sabine asked, smiling happily at me. “Don’t you want to join in the dance and games?”

“Let’s go!” I answered, feeling a little adventurous. Free food had always attracted me. Don’t ask me why. I kind of got it from my parents. Evidently, there were many fit guys hanging around. Why wouldn’t there be? Cute guys live to be actors girls can drool over in the near future.

Food served was absolutely delectable! Mmmm… I was attacking the beef pasta ferociously, chewing every bit and swallowing each mouthful with love and respect. Everyone knows guys like girls with a huge appetite because they can’t stand that “I’m on a diet” crap. It’s cute to see a skinny girl wolf down huge helpings of food but rather unsightly if a big girl does it? Well, let’s not go there. I have always considered myself as plus sized. It’s not that I’m overweight or obese. It’s just that I’m a little on the large side. Partially, it’s because Sabine looks like a stick next to me. Look at her, eating such miniscule bites but a fairly large amount of food. Paul seems to find it so adorable he’s even feeding her. Bleah! No jealousy though… What? Now what on earth? Why on earth is he here? Oh my goodness!

“What are YOU doing here?!” I hollered at the face who looked equally shocked. He stared at me in unison and blinked his eyes repeatedly. “I asked you what you’re doing here.”

“Well, I could ask you the same thing but it’s freaking obvious that we’re in the same school!” he half shouted, glaring at me looking dissatisfied. “Were you stalking me or something? Huh?!”

Me? Stalk him? No! That’s Justwin’s job! How is it that he’s in the same school as I am? Oh right, he’s a performer. Damn it! Looks like I can’t run away from paying for his guitar.

“Mr.Niko, I’m so sorry but I will pay you back for your guitar. And NO! I’m not stalking you for the love of God! Coincidence much?” I said, wishing he would forgive me so this awkwardness will end. Come on, I’m a girl, you’re a girl… Are you? Never mind. My point is which girl will actually want such a hot guy to stay mad at her? NO ONE!

“What’s up with MR.Niko? Just call me Niko. That’ll do, for now. I’ll think about how you can pay back for it. But don’t think I’m gonna let you off so easily!” he said, holding up a finger and shaking it at me. He looked so cool, so mysterious like.

“I’m sorry again. Anyway, looks like we’re stuck here for a while,” I said, looking at my feet as he brushed his hair from his forehead. His once knitted eyebrows were now softened as he calmed down.

“Yep. Seems like it. We might as well be nice to each other. You better be nice to me or you’ll regret it. You owe me after all,” said Niko, folding his arms, standing straight and tall to show his power.

This was not going to be fun at all. How on earth was I to live with this threatening presence. Not that threatening but I had a teeny feeling that he was going to be really mean to me. By that I mean he’ll be ordering me around like hell. I kind of deserved it anyway. Not that I’m accepting it but I can’t do shit right? Look at him. He walked off leaving me agape in the middle of the hall. I’m going to have to learn to deal and cope with him then. After all, he is Sabine’s friend. I have to treat my friends’ friend nicely right? Oh gosh, that’s just a horrible excuse to treat him well. Truth is I’m going to obey him because he’s what we would call, HOT.
